AutomationDirect has added new line reactor models and VTF (voltage time filter) series output filters that protect AC motors and variable frequency (VFD) drives from electrical disturbances.

 

 

 

The new Allen-Bradley E100 Electronic Motor Overload Relay can help industrial companies better protect their motors and avoid unplanned downtime. As the next generation of Allen-Bradley electronic overload relays, it more accurately measures a motor’s current load, models its temperature and shuts the motor off when it’s in danger of damage due to overheating.

 

 

 

CARLO GAVAZZI has launched the HDMS Series, a single-phase motor soft-starter. It is an ideal solution for systems used in areas with weak power grids. Its unique design and control algorithm eliminate the need for a traditional start capacitor, effectively increasing reliability. This same innovative control strategy allows the HDMS to easily start Capacitor Start / Capacitor Run (CSCR) motors, and in the case of Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC) motors, virtually eliminate the starting current.

 

 

 

Engineers can use the new Allen-Bradley 140MP Motor Protection Circuit Breakers from Rockwell Automation to simplify motor protection. The circuit breakers, also known as motor-protective switching devices, can be mounted on Allen-Bradley 100-C or 100-K contactors to create a two-component motor starter.

B&R's new digital output module X20DO4332-1 has integrated pulse width modulation and is a cost-effective alternative to motor modules. In addition, the module offers a dither function that prevents valves from sticking. Pulse width modulation (PWM) is mainly used for controlling larger loads, such as motors. Instead of using electronics to regulate a continuous input voltage down to the desired motor voltage, the motor is controlled by the width of the switching pulses.
