As an operator of complex systems, you need to ensure that different motion sequences, multiple axes, and various drives are precisely coordinated with one another The efficiency of your production depends on this. In order to ensure this required intelligent coordination, you also need both intelligent and reliable control technology.
In collaboration with The Harris Products Group — a Lincoln Electric company — Lincoln Electric recently introduced VRTEX OxyFuel Cutting feature, bringing welding and cutting together for education by enabling users to practice torch cutting safely and virtually.
The comprehensive power supply portfolio offers single-phase and 3-phase DIN rail power supply units with output currents from 2.5 A to 40 A: from the PS1000 series for small, cost-optimized applications and the PS2000 series for the commonest standard applications to the PS3000 series for demanding 24 and 48 V DC applications.

The new Allen-Bradley Guardmaster 440G-EZ electromagnetic interlocking switch can help protect people, processes and equipment. By providing the physical interlocking of guard doors, the safety switch allows access to a potentially hazardous area only when the area is safe. This can help keep people safe and protect a process from unplanned downtime to improve productivity and efficiency.
Production workers can now more quickly access the data they need using the FactoryTalk Historian Site Edition (SE) software from Rockwell Automation. New enhancements make it the most reliable and secure release of the software to date.
Phoenix Contact is expanding its line of unmanaged switches. With galvanically isolated Power over Ethernet, the new 5-Port and 8-Port switches will deliver and outperform existing current POE switches. The new switches will be easily mountable using DIN-rail mounting and fuctions with both SELV and PELV power supplies.
Experience shows that demands change over the duration of a project or during the life cycle of an application. Therefore, the open ecosystem PLCnext Technology by Phoenix Contact, in addition to being expandable via downloads of functions from the PLCnext Store, now also offers a plug-in solution: A left-alignable extension system adds functions not contained in the standard performance spectrum to PLCnext Control devices.

Put to the Ultimate Test – Part 1: Torsion Tests by HELUKABEL
Cables and wires in industrial robots and other moving machine parts are often required to withstand extreme stresses caused by torsion. Constant repetitive movements put materials under considerable strain. At the same time, operators expect components to function perfectly and reliably throughout their entire service life to avoid disruptions, outages and safety hazards.
For this reason, at HELUKABEL, we simulate intensive and continuous torsion stresses under realistic conditions with our high-tech testing equipment in Windsbach. We have several types of apparatus for doing this because some of our customers, for example those in the automotive industry, have very precise specifications for how a torsion test is carried out. The tests show that our cables and wires withstand speeds up to 1,000°/s, accelerations up to 2,000°/s² and torsion angles up to 720°. Hence, we make sure that each product always meets our customers’ high standards, and that they receive the impeccable quality they rightly expect from us as a leading supplier of cables, wires and accessories for more than 40 years.
